International Day of Peace Art Exhibition 2012

The Bridgetown - Greenbushes Shire are holding an art exhibition supporting the International Day of Peace.
We hope the local community groups (and anyone else who maybe interested) will support this event.
Part of my job is to promote this exhibition through the local primary schools by running art workshops to encourage students to exhibit.
Anyone interested in exhibiting are welcome to contact Megan or Tania at the numbers provided on the poster below.
Best overall will receive $400.
Submissions cost $10 each - can't go wrong at that price!!!

Medieval Fayre 2012

The sixteenth Medieval Fayre proved another success for Balingup this year.
As part of the entertainment my brother, Jacob, and I were giving street performances as artists under the banner of the "Medieval Masterpieces" (a caricature with a twist).

Explaining the flamboyant approach to the sketch.

Intently drawing (the mask obscuring my vision)

 Another masterpiece in 30 seconds!!

 Jacob expresses his feminine side....

 ...and his groovy side....

 ...without a 100% success!

A medieval character.

We pose with the 1% of people who were happy with the drawings...!

Our performance was overshadowed by my sister, Mary, who gave two soulful performances on the main stage.

And amidst all the activities I still found time to sell my greeting cards, prints, books and paint a semi-finished watercolour on site!!

Words in the Valley workshops

As part of the Words in the Valley festival I ran a couple of art workshops at the local primary schools last week.
Workshop concentrated on creating a character and including him in an illustration.
Bit of a laugh!

Medieval Fayre

I'll be having an art stall at the Medieval Fayre in Balingup on August 25 - 26th.
Will be giving art demo's throughout the day and drawing portraits around the festival.
The Creations in a Teapot stall will be situated in the Ye Olde shed, just above the fighting arena.
Great family day with loads of activities, stalls and food!

Goblin's Kitchen

I was giving art demonstrations at the Bridgetown Art & Craft annual fair today.
The image I worked on was an experimental piece that combined techniques I use in my larger works with finer illustration methods. The result was a really energetic painting. A little bit of Arthur Rackham inspired style has definitely crept in!
The painting includes watercolour, bodycolour, ink and coloured pencils on 300gsm hot press paper.
